湖南公益联盟“湘理相亲”项目引来多家企业合作Hunan NGO Alliance in Partnership with Many Corporations

2008年“512汶川大地震”后，湖南公益联盟成立“湘理相亲”关爱四川理县公益项目组，整合社会各界资源对口支持理县灾后重建工作，期间在湖南省开展了多次大型活动，参与爱心市民近10万人次，也吸引来了众多的爱心企业。

南车株洲电力机车研究所有限公司多次与项目组联系，希望参与到灾区重建工作中，并确定由集团18名员工组成一支南车集团“十杰青年”爱心团队，与 “湘理相亲”项目组成员一同前往四川理县灾区开展爱心助学活动。本次公益之旅，南车集团爱心团队采购了一万册图书捐赠给灾区学校筹建图书室，并捐赠了自筹的10.5万元善款，用于理县学校“南车时代特别奖学金”的设立。

项目的成功实施又吸引了省内另一家大企业的参与，由于活动组织有序，这家企业在参与活动后的第二个月，即捐赠100万与湖南公益联盟进行了另一个公益项目的合作。两个项目因取得的良好效果都被媒体广泛报导，政府也进行了表彰，两家企业与湖南公益联盟也获得了相应的社会认可。

活动不仅仅是一个捐赠的过程，更是企业与NGO建立信任关系的过程，以上的两家企业都是湖南的上市公司，都有自己的公益相关部门，对于企业责任意识强烈的企业，合作起来较为轻松，合作过程中，要让企业了解，与专业的NGO合作，效率与效果都比他们自己操作要好。

Organizational Outline / Project Briefing:
After the earthquake that violently struck Wenchuan county in Sichuan Province, China, in 2008, The Hunan Public Welfare Alliance founded the "Hunan Province Reconstruction Services". The inception and formation of this organization demonstrated the inherent concern and care that Hunan province had for their fellow province, Sichuan. The organization was set to help counties affected most, including Li County. Furthermore, Hunan integrated their community resources to support their counterparts and the reconstruction work in Li County. A number of large-scale projects were undertaken, and nearly 100,000 citizens in Hunan were actively and compassionately involved. Many large enterprises and corporations were also attracted to the cause and contributed what they could.

CSR Zhuzhou Electirc Locomotice Research Institute Co., Ltd., a major electric locomotive manufacturer based in Hunan, China, was headstrong in their commitments to the cause. The large corporation set an example by proactively participating in the reconstruction efforts. They even formed a CSR volunteer team, which they deemed, "Ten Outstanding Youth"; this team was comprised of 18 staff dedicated to the reconstruction and revitalization projects in Sichuan province. The project teams immediately left for the disaster area in Li County, Sichuan and began their work to help reconstruct the county and mitigate the disastrous repercussions resulting from the tragedy. The CSR team purchased 10,000 books and donated them to the disaster area with the goal of building a library. Furthermore, the corporation raised 105,000 Renminbi (Chinese money: i.e. 元, pronounced yuan) in contributions and donated it to the establishment of a new county school and contributed some to a special scholarship, funded by the CSR.

The successful implementation of such an endeavor, such as CSR's has resulted in increased attention and participation among other large enterprises in the Hunan province. In the following month, companies have not only helped Hunan Public Welfare Alliance in organizing new fundraising initiatives, but they have also proved instrumental in their participation in such initiatives, resulting in the donation of 1,000,000 Renminbi to the cause. The two projects received extensive media coverage, owing in part to the programs' success, and the Chinese Government commended the two enterprises and the Hunan Public Welfare Alliance, awarding them social recognition for their extensive work.

These activities do not merely stop at donations. Companies and Non-governmental Organizations have established relationships built on trust, and the above two companies listed in Hunan province each have a strong sense of corporate responsibility and therefore they are easier for NGOs to work with. It is also important for corporations to understand that cooperating with professional NGOs is more effective than working on their own.
